Corporate social responsibility to be promoted with broad-based cooperation

During its evening session on 17 September 2014, the government was presented with a plan prepared last spring by a civil servants working group for the national implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. Finland is one of the first EU member states to draft an action plan for the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles.


Government rejects TVO application for extension to decision-in-principle

On 25 September 2014 the Government issued a negative decision-in-principle regarding an application by Teollisuuden Voima to extend the expiration deadline of a decision-in-principle on the OL4 nuclear reactor unit.


The MEE and the Finnish Olympic Committee launch cooperation to boost cleantech exports

The Ministry of Employment and the Economy and the Finnish Olympic Committee have concluded a cooperation agreement on the promotion of cleanteach exports. The objective of the agreement is to create new opportunities for projects promoting Finnish cleantech exports utilising the olympic theme.


18.09.2014 The Ministry of Employment and the Economy granted EUR 65.2 million in three new LNG terminals

The Ministry of Employment and the Economy announced that it has today (18 September 2014) committed a total of EUR 65.2 million in energy subsidies for three liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals. With the help of this support, Manga LNG Oy, Skangass Oy, and Oy Aga Ab will build LNG terminals in Tornio, Pori and Rauma respectively.

The supplement of the application by Fennovoima to a decision-in-principle will be presented for approval with one precondition for issuing the construction license: at least 60 per cent of the shares must be in Finnish ownership.
