Group of influential EU figures acquaint themselves with Finnish bioeconomy

The Ministry of Employment and the Economy (MEE) has invited a number of influential EU figures from Brussels to Finland to learn about the theory and practice of the Finnish bioeconomy. The group of more than 10 people includes top-level civil servants from the various departments of the European Commission, as well as the EU ambassadors of leading bioeconomy countries

27.01.2015 Import of electricity will secure the sufficiency of electricity generation capacity during peak consumption periods

Domestic electricity generation is insufficient to cover consumption during peak demand currently and in the future. The completion of Olkiluoto 3 will increase the capacity at the end of the decade, but electricity must be imported to Finland during cold winters. This is pointed out in Pöyry Management Consulting Oy's report which was published on 27 January 2015.
