More than 10 eligible applications were submitted by the deadline to the international design competition for a biorefinery being organised by the MEE. The combined value of the applications was about 1.5 billion euros. The aim of the competition is to expedite the commercialisation of bioeconomy innovations and the emergence of new biorefineries in Finland
The Ministry of Employment and the Economy and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs have today signed a letter of intent concerning the picking of wild berries with several berry industry companies.
Finnvera, Finpro, Tekes and Finnish Industry Investment will move under the same roof in the Team Finland house in Ruoholahti, Helsinki. Team Finland actors under the Ministry of Employment and the Economy, Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Prime Minister's Office will also have joint offices in the building.
The Parliament gave its approval to an application by Fennovoima for the construction of a Rosatom nuclear power unit in Pyhäjoki. The vote in Parliament was 115–74 in favour of the application. The Parliament voted on the approval or rejection of the positive decision-in-principle made by the Government in September.
