Data File Descriptions
Personal Data File description
According to the Personal Data Act the controller of a register shall draw up a description of all personal data files held in the registers. The Ministry of Employment and the Economy maintains descriptions of its personal data files, which describes the purpose of the file and the data recorded in it.
Under the
Act on the Openness of Government Activities and the Personal Data Act everyone
has the right inspect the personal data held on them in the Ministry’s files
and if necessary to request amendment of them. The personal data file descriptions are available in Finnish via the Finnish home page. Information management system descriptions
Under the
Act on the Openness of Government Activities, an authority must compile and
make available descriptions of the information management systems held by them.

The timeliness of Personal Data File and Information System Descriptions is being checked each year. At the same time, data on new descriptions will be collected.
