Regulated trades

Exercise of economic activity in Finland requires usually a prior notification to the National Board of Patents and Registration for entry in the Trade Register. There are some legal restrictions on the exercise of certain types of economic activity. Activities of this type may involve, for instance, safety risks, health hazards or economic risks. Economic activities on which legal restrictions have been imposed are called regulated trades. Exercise of an activity of this type requires not only a notification to the National Board of Patents and Registration and entry in the Trade Register but also registration, an authorisation or approval by an authority.
