Internationalisation and Russia

Alongside the organizations within its administrative sector, the Ministry of Employment and the Economy monitors events in Russia and the Russian markets and economy, as well as legislative developments. Important themes include key issues from the economy and trade perspective, such as natural resources, cooperation in technology and innovation, and joint efforts in energy issues.

The Ministry of Employment and the Economy seeks to ensure business opportunities for Finnish companies and their entry into the Russian market, while improving their competitiveness there. It also aims to maintain and develop direct relationships with officials within the Russian public administration and, above all, key ministries.

The Finnish-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation and its working groups form the most important, government-level cooperation body. The working groups for innovation, investments, oil and gas, forest industry and nine working groups for Russian regions are led by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy.
