Co-operation with international financial institutions
The Ministry of Employment and
the Economy is involved in projects implemented by international financial
institutions. In Russia,
it seeks to promote Finnish companies’ opportunities to take part in projects
carried out by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the
World Bank Group, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
(EBRD) in particular, with the aim of increasing the use of Finnish expertise
and technology in technical assistance projects important to Finnish companies.
The Ministry contributes to the
financial institutions’ projects by funding expert services sourced from Finland, within
the framework of technical assistance agreements concluded with the ERBD and
the IFC. Topical projects in Russia
can be found in the municipal sector, municipal engineering, energy saving and
the related financing, as well as the development of forest-based industries’
investments.
