Enterprise Finland Telephone Service Launched Offering Advice to New Entrepreneurs

The Enterprise Finland service system has been expanded with a telephone service, offering entrepreneurs an additional contact channel on top of the existing personal and online services.

The Enterprise Finland telephone service is a nationwide service platform for businesses and prospective entrepreneurs, offered by the Finnish Ministry for Employment and the Economy. In its initial stages, it will provide assistance and counselling, mainly to those embarking on entrepreneurial activities. By the end of 2010, the operations will be expanded to apply to existing businesses and the business services provided to them by the ministry.

Customers of the service will receive general business advice, information and counselling aimed at new entrepreneurs, on the business services provided by the ministry and its main business partners, as well as assistance in using e-services. If necessary, customers will be directed to contact the correct public business or personal service provider.

The helpline is open Monday to Friday, 9 am-4 pm. The service is available in Finnish by calling 010 194 680, in Swedish on 010 194 681 and in English on 010 194 682.

The Enterprise Finland telephone service is coordinated by employees of the Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment in Southwest Finland, Southeast Finland and Etelä-Savo. In addition, it is provided by 25 business consultants from centres in the regions of Lapland, North Karelia, Pirkanmaa, Satakunta, Ostrobothnia, Oulu Region and Central Finland.

The aim is to develop a shared customer-oriented operating model for telephone services and other contact centre services in conjunction with the Contact Center unit of the ministry.
